Children's Church at Second Baptist

The word “ministry” is derived from the Greek word diakoneo. Its meaning means to serve. It is this word, serve, that exemplifies the epitome for which Christ came to this world:Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28). The scriptures require us to serve. That service is to be rendered unto God and to God’s people.

MESSAGE OF JOY

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 reads:

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

It is these scriptures that is the basis for our children’s church ministry. We wish to serve God by sharing the Word of God with our children in hope that they will develop their own personal relationship with Christ. Salvation has no respect for age. God’s will is that all shall come unto repentance.

We hope that you and your child will find this ministry filled with God’s rich treasures and His word will become an overwhelming presence in your souls.
